We can't believe this actually happened!!
We're SOOOOO extremely excited to share the feature our place in Anthology Magazine (issue #8) !!!! We couldn't have asked for a better feature with Anthology! We've been fans of the magazine since day one!
Both Meg & Anh-Minh are such thoughtful writers & designers that we know that everything they do is bound to be awesome! So we just feel extremely humbled to have them feature our space & us!
It's been a long time coming since Meg Mateo Ilasco (editor of Anthology) had first approached us almost 2 years ago (when they first launched Anthology) expressing interest in featuring our place. And as much as I was stoked about it, we were so hesitant to do it since we didn't think our place was on par to the quality of other Anthology spaces!!
There were so many parts of our house we wanted to change & update, and projects we wanted to complete. So we asked to push back our feature since one of our big plans was to remodel our kitchen! Thankfully, Meg was super patient with us...and what was suppose to be a 3 months delay, lead to 6 months, then 9 months...and then finally 12 months later we (somewhat) got our act together to then finally have them do the feature of our place!!! I was surprised that they didn't decide to just give up on us... :P
But boy were we glad that we waited to do the feature...especially looking back at the BEFORE photos of our place when we first moved in 4 years ago! SO DIFFERENT!
On top of what's already an exciting feature of us & our place, we were totally surprised to see out work through out the magazine!!
Like our Homestead Candlesticks on the contents page front & center! WHAAAT?! That's cray.....
On the right, there's a little bio on the lovely Jess Chamberlain (in a red top) who wrote our story! She's worked for Sunset magazine for 10+ years and recently have branched out to do more freelance writing for other magazines. We're super lucky to have such an amazing lady write about us!
Below, our top fav blogs picks from our friends (Ashley Helvey, Kitka, and Things Organize Neatly) were mentioned in the "Making the Magazine" section.
Here's our piggy bank (item #8) via (one of our fav shop!) Curiosity Shoppe!
Granted there are still parts of the house we're still working on as our place is a constant work in progress...
But if it weren't for Meg giving us the the opportunity, we probably wouldn't have done as much we did without the deadlines! ;)
We love it when there's mutual admirations between us and the people that we absolutely love!! We feel so lucky that Anthology is one of them as they recently featured our new Natural Selection series AND our home in issue #8! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Surface Magazine / Featured: Ovis Hanging Chair
Besides being excited about the upcoming Remodelista Market, we're even more excited to see couple of generous mention of our new work on their site!
Read the post of our Ovis chair:
Read the post of Aura Lights:
We're so happy to see our love for each other is mutual. ;)
Check out everything that Monica & Jill (from Sight Unseen) did for Noho Design District including our Ovis Chair & Aura light at Zero + Maria Cornejo.
See the full post HERE!
It was seriously amazing to see all the shows, spaces, and works they coordinate and organized for the entire neighborhood of Noho during New York Design week. I don't know how they did it all...but my suspicion is that they just don't ever sleep. Yup.
Featured Work: Mega Doily Rug
Jill from Sight Unseen recently spotted our necklace on Creatures of Comfort where they used it for styling! We're crossing our fingers that they'll start carrying our necklaces soon!
We did a custom batch of red piggies upon Bradford's (founder of FAB.com) request for their upcoming popup shop during NY Design Week starting MAY 17th!
We're so thrilled to be part of all this as well other awesome events like AmDC's Raw + Unfiltered show, and Noho Design District.
Metropolis magazine mentioned both Raw + Unfiltered and FAB's popup shop as one of the destinations to check out during NY Design Week! How exciting!
We've only made a limited quantity of these babies just for the popup so get 'em while they last!
We love process shots and apparently so does Sight Unseen!
They shared a nice post sharing some pics of our chairs in collaboration with Ashley for Noho Design District.
We've been pretty active on posting our process almost daily on our tumblr & Instagram (jeanLGstudio), so you can see more there, too!
Also the Sight Unseen post shows more sneak peak process shots of other talented friends from Iacoli & McAllister and Fort Standard... plus others talents we hope to meet like Caitlin Mociun, Makers & Brothers, Bec Brittain and more...more...more!!!
Just awesomness all around!
Featured Work: Chalk Piggy Bank.
It was a nice surprise since I got the issue literally the DAY after we had our photoshoot of our place for Anthology!! Our place is scheduled to be featured in the coming Fall issue!
I love how poetic Charlie makes them sound. :D
We're SO excited to see photos of the Shape Shop popup on Sight Unseen they just posted! Everything looks amazing and the range of works there is all pretty insane. They've selected works from bunch of great designers and artists, and we're just super happy to be included!
There's so much excitement that I wish I can integrate bunch of explosive graphics like "AWESOME!" "WOW!" "AMAZING!" "NO WAY!" or "I REALLY LIKE THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO GET IT PLEASE!"
Anyway....here are some photos of the popup:
Here's our BLOC necklaces!! yay~~
It was a total coincidence that our necklaces happened to be totally inline with the Shape Shop theme...using simple shapes and block, and even colors....it freaked me out a bit...but in the best way possible!! We hope to have these up on our site next month!
There are bunch of great things from some friendly AmDC folks ( Fort Standard, Patrick Kim, Brian Persico) and other awesome designers we've admired like, Shabd, Fredericks and Mae, Tanya Aguiniga, Fort Makers and tons MORE! See more HERE.
ON TOP of al this, Sight Unseen also released their new book!
Also, the popup will be up at Creatures of Comfort in NY until May 6th!

...and the second feature is of my Mega-Doily rug project under Meg's "Crafting a Meaningful Home" book!
Yay! Double awesomeness.
Featured Work: Full feature on owners Jean Lee and Dylan Davis
Sorry to have to play favorites , BUT this one deserves a few EXTRA exclamation mark!!!!
We LOVE this awesome UK magazine and was more than stoked to have BOTH our Chalk Piggy bank AND Perimeter Tray be featured in the April issue!!
Reading this magazine is like having THE BEST worldly European friend with phenomenal taste to hang out with you.....I just automatically feel a bit more awesome and well-informed about all the current events around the world.
On top of all that, I get to meet the most amazing people, see the most incredible spaces and places, AND learn about the best places to eat & shop!!!
Now if ONLY that friend was REAL.....
BUT since I don't have a real friend like that, that's where Monocle comes in!
Hurray! my life is saved again! Monocle, you're the BEST!! We're gonna be BFFs for, like, ever.
