Ovis Lounge in LEATH-AH....

Finally! We made a special leather version of the Ovis Lounge Chair in untanned leather version for Tenoversix's new Dallas shop about a month ago and is really loving the look!

The best thing about the untanned leather is that it will get darker & shinier with use and I can only imagine the whole chair will age beautifully over time.  We also made a new pillow with industrial wool felt with some added little details.

Here are some photos below.

We shall soon add this to our Ovis line soon as well as a macramé sling version, oh my!

L&G going to Milan (in spirit)!

This is happening... AmDC's will be showing in Milan at Most Salone from April 9th-14th.  Although we can't physically be there to join all the fun, we're still excited to have some of our works be shown under AmDC during that time!

Every small step is still a step closer to our dream, right?!

Dupe Home Tour on Apartment Therapy

You may or may not know that Dylan & I live and share a duplex with our good friends, Jared & Chika, and baby Lisle!   We were lucky enough to be chosen by Andie Powers ( co-owns Assemble )  to have both of our  place featured on Aparment Therapy recently.

LG on Apartment Therapy6.jpg

We share a 1960's duplex  in Ballard, Seattle.  Under this one roof, there are two units,  two couples (Chika & Jared on the left, Jean & Dylan on the right) , two studios (

Ladies & Gentlemen Studio and R&L goods), and two babies ( C&J's precious baby name Lisle and J&D's whiny cat, Pudding).

Here's Jared, Chika & Lisle's colorful inviting home. We admire their brave use of bright fun colors throughout their space. They also have the best collection of coveted artworks, heirloom items and furniture.

Check out the rest of their lovely abode on AT, HERE!

Our side on the other hand is all about floating open shelves...It's not entirely untrue to say that we just don't know how to edit down. For us, the shelves really functions as our 3 dimensional inspiration board where we can be reminded of all the things that inspires us whether it be things that our friends make, vintage treasures we found or material swatches.

You can see the rest of the home tour with some of our trade secrets on AT, HERE!

New Cake Servers on BHLDN & Terrain!

We've been hoping to get our products in Anthropologie for awhile now...but so far we've only had some loose email correspondence that've yet mound to anything....

But this last winter out of the blue, one of the the buyers from Terrain (with great home & garden goods) contacted us about making custom servers for them!

Terrain_servers_mix.jpg
Terrain_cake servers.jpg

Then a month later, another buyer from BHLDN (with beautiful wedding things of all sorts) contacted us about making more custom cake servers, too!

cake pic on BHLDN.jpg

Not only are both of these shops great, they're also under the same umbrella of Anthro & Urban Outfitters!

We feel like we're just one step away from getting something in Anthropologie! Let's hope that next step will happen in the near future!

Holiday Shop Frenzy

Every year, we tell ourselves that we need to prepare early since this is always our busiest time of the year. But of course, no matter how much we think we prepared ourselves....we still end up working late hours and feeling sleep deprived for the majority of the time.

....And this holiday especially seemed extra actioned packed.

We're totally stoked to get orders from some of our favorite shops from all over!

The Cool Hunter's pop-up in Australia / Douglas + Bec in New Zealand  / Makers & Brothers in Ireland / April & May in The Netherlands / Le Kiosk in Sweden / Die Sellerie in Austria / The Drake General Store in Toronto / Nineteenten in Vancouver / The Future Perfect , Sight Unseen, and American Design Club in New York / Unison Home in Chicago / Terrain in Philadelphia / Propeller in San Francisco / Woonwinkel in Portland / Frye Art Museum Shop in Seattle!

Besides cranking out orders for all those awesome stores, we also couldn't help ourselves from other fun happenings/events in Seattle! Here are some photo documentation below taken from our Instagram.

We made a fun lookbook along with our Seattle friends from Grain and Iacoli & McAllister.

LGinstagram17.jpg

We did a Himmeli ornament workshop at the Meet The Makers event at the Frye.

LGinstagram22.jpg

We designed and made our own special L&G letterhead that folds into an envelope!

LGinstagram9.jpg

And finally, we organized and put together The BLAK design popup the last weekend before Christmas at Caffe Vita!

LGinstagram21.jpg

There's still so much I need to blog about, but needless to say, we're just happy that we made it through the holidays!

Now it's time to unwindulax!

Copycats, REALLY?!?!

Copycats, REALLY?!?!

It was brought to our sad sad attention that an Etsy (of course!) seller has been blatantly copying our Superior Servers......down to the T....copying our product, process, verbiage, AND even the way the products are styled in the photos!!

I know they exist everywhere and anywhere...but this is beyond just "oh it's inspired by or it just looks similar" type of scenario. These people have consciously copied EVERY part of our products and details.  As Tiny Fay, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers would be happy to back me up and say...."Really?  REALLY!?!"

And this is what we imagined they'd say.....

Tina: REALLY?...Did you actually make a check list of all the things that were in L&G's photos and went down the grocery store aisles going...."ok...let's see here....I need... 7 cherry tomatoes cut in half while leaving on on the table, check. Couple sprig of rosemary, check. Round plate to place on the upper right corner, check. Some fresh parsley leaves on table, check.  Whole Roasted chicken with the part of it sliced, check"....and then did you print L&G's image in real size to lay everything out on top so its almost identical even in how the things were arranged? COME ON! This is like when kids use tracing paper  to copy cartoon characters before they learned that not all mice HAVE to look like Mickey Mouse!!  REALLY.

copycat servers.jpg

Seth: And COME ON!....did you EVEN TRY to spend some time to AT LEAST think of doing something different or did you think about it for less than a second and then went"....oh, never mind,  that's too much work...I should simply do EXACTLY what they did, because why would I want to spend/waste more time to do something different OR unique OR have to use any of my creativity when I can be MAKING MONEY from another person's idea!"....REALLY!?!

Amy: and REALLY...were you absent to class everyday in school when they taught that PLAGIARISM is inexcusable AND unacceptable and that you automatically get a big FATF on your grades?! Well....guess what?  That rule STILL applies even if you're an adult... you'll still get a big FAT F...U know what.

Just read the comparison of the text below....

L&G's PRODUCT TEXT: A versatile set of serving utensils with colorful dipped handles.  The trio consisting of a stainless steel spoon, carving fork, and perforated spoon is ideal for serving baked dishes, salads, roasts and more.  The festive colors make them perfect accessories for weddings, holiday parties, dinner parties, and more.  Mix and match your favorite colors separately or pick the versatile 4 piece gift set.

Each is piece is constructed of solid stainless steel with a durable food safe dipped handle.

CAVALCADE ETSY COPYCAT'S TEXT: This set is ideal for serving baked dishes, salads, roasts and more. The festive colors make them perfect for weddings, holiday parties, dinner parties, and more. Pick your favorite colors to make a one of kind gift.

Each is piece is constructed of solid stainless steel with a durable food and dishwasher safe colored handle.

L&G Interview on Sight Unseen

We're so thrilled to be on Sight Unseen's UP & COMING column!! SU is hands down one of our fav design blogs! Bith Jill & Monica has such a keen eye in spotting the current & upcoing trends whether it be art, craft or design.

For the column, Monica asked us quite a few hard hitting questions about L&G over the phone and patiently listened to us as Dylan & I struggled to sound like we know what we're doing. This is probably one of the most in-depth interviews we've done thus far and we learned more about oursevels more than ever!

We shared all sorts of things about ourselves such as how we met & started, where we find our inspirations, who our design hero is, things we created as a kid, things we have around our house, and how somtimes people think we're an escort service....which in all honesty, we probably would be financially better off if we had taken that route. :P

We're so happy that we've came this far to be on Sight Unseen!

Also here are some photo outtake:

Our design hero, Enzo Mari.

Inspirational findings whenever we go on nature walks.

Our collection of vintage houseware on our kitchen shelves.

Our collection of thrifted glass jars we've collected over the years.

Jean's collection of random office supplies in the office.

Some of our best thrifted finds in our living room: Knoll couch, Hans Wagner rocking chairs, unknown vintage woven rugs, and the jade plant.

Thanks Jill & Monica! XOXO

L&G and Anthology getting festive!

Anthology just launched their lovely online Holiday issue and we're excited to be one of the contributers for them for the first time!!

For this issue, Meg (the editor) asked us to make a special holiday wreath for the "Holiday Hang Ups!" (pg 43) section featuring various handmade wreaths! I never make one before and thought "OK, why not!"

My vision was to make something that's simple, not too holiday-ey but still warm & cozy all at the same time. I was a bit worried that it would look too boring....but thanks to Anthology team who styled & shot everything so well that they made it feel extra nice & festive!

Check out the rest of the Holiday issue  and get in on the festivities!

L&G Makin' Some Rounds this Holiday

It's that time of the year to celebrate the holiday and shop for gifts!!! (....and we still can't believe it almost the end of year!)
But boy, are we excited for this joyful season and for getting into some holiday gift guides!
Check em' out!
Here's our Ovis Hanging Chair front & center on Seattle Metropolitan Magazine

Our Aura lights was also featured in the latest issue of Gray Magazine (also Seattle based magazine)
Here's our lil' chalk piggy bank made it in to Cool Hunting's Gift guide!

Here's our Superior Servers in RealSimple's roundup of serving utensils.

AND our servers is also featured in November issue of ALASKA AIRLINE magazine (pg76)!!....oh how I love flying on Alaska Air especially on their small jets (i.e. Seattle to Portland) where I get to down a glass of complimentary wine in 15min. It's awesome....

And through FAB, our chalk piggy bank also made it into NY Post's holiday gift guide...along with the insanely famous FURBY and NIKKI MANAJ..... perfume. No joke.  Here's the printed version...and be prepared to be blown away by this collection!!!

I think the only way we can ever beat Furby or Nicki is to make a new version of chalk piggy bank that talks like a creep and wears bright pink wigs...then we're gonna pitch this to Shark Tank and make BANK!

Collective Collage

This season, L&G teamed up with some of our JOIN friends, Grain and Iacoli & McAllister to test this concept of putting together a a micro catalog of gift ideas.

We were lucky to have our friend, Charlie Schuck photograph our products while I styled everything....which I'm starting to realize the whole process of styling products can really satisfy my natural OCD tendencies of arranging/rearranging things!

Check out the full catalog below.  Clicking on the actual products on the image in the catalog to get directly to the product page.

New Excitement at Frye Art Museum

Something awesome is brewing at the Frye Art Museum. Charlie Schuck at Object totally transformed the museum shop with works from 50+ local designers and artists, and we're excited to be part of it all!

We're also working with Charlie & The Frye on some winter events which will coincide with Frye's current exhibit, Moment Magnitude-A cross-platform project of visual art, performances, readings, concerts, dance, rehearsals, and specially designed arts engagement programs.

The Frye is hands down one of our favorite 'secret' Seattle spots. It's beautifully understated and tucked away on First Hill with a great mix of traditional & contemporary artwork...and on top of it all, its free! Every time we go, we're always amazed by the place.

The shop & exhibit will be up through Mid-January, so go check it out!
